First Nations and Metis Education Plan

The First Nations and Metis Education Plan guides school divisions in an annual planning, monitoring, and reporting cycle that is aligned with the school division strategic plan and the Education Sector Strategic Plan.

    • Goal 1 Literacy - 70% of our FNM students reading at or above grade level in reading in Grades 1 to 5 by the end of 2016-17.
    • Goal 2 Credit Attainment - To Increase credit attainment for our students.
    • Goal 3 Graduation Rates - To increase graduation rates by 6%.
    • Goal 4 OTC Training - OTC Trained staff: All learners to have knowledge and appreciation of the unique contributions of First Nations and Métis peoples to Saskatchewan.
    • Goal 5 Self-declaration - Increase of Self-declared students: All learners to have knowledge and appreciation of the unique contributions of First Nations and Métis peoples to Saskatchewan. Increase the number of FNM students who self-declare by 15% over the total number per year in each of the next three years.

This is an exciting initiative that the Good Spirit School Division looks forward to working and growing with in the years to come.
