Board meetings are held on the third Thursday of every month (excluding July). At times, and only as needed, special meetings of the board may be called. Regular meetings are open to public attendance except for the in-committee portion of discussions. Public Delegations, interested in attending, need to complete the Application for Delegation to Board Meetings. Board Policy 7 details, "The purpose of Board meetings is to ascertain group opinion and through motions and resolutions to focus Board action on specific issues. Respectful behaviour preserves the inherent dignity of everyone; therefore it is important that Board meetings be conducted in an environment that is productive, orderly and respectful of Board members, staff and members of the public."
Board Meeting Agendas are provided prior to each Board meeting as a synopsis of items scheduled to be discussed. The Administration Office prepares the agenda and board package for distribution to board members 1 week prior to the board meeting.
Board Meeting Minutes are transcribed at each meeting as a representation of discussions and motions passed. At the following Board meeting, minutes are presented and, once approved, can be shared and posted.
