Continuous Improvement Plan

The Continuous Improvement Framework was first introduced to school divisions during the 2006-2007 school year. Each year, school divisions are required to develop a Continuous Improvement Plan (CIP) and also to report on the progress made over the course of the last year. These extremely important documents shape the future learning of our students.

The Continuous Improvement Plan for October, 2007 is available for viewing by clicking here.

In the fall of 2007, the Good Spirit School Division produced our first Continuous Improvement Plan (available above). Our first Continuous Improvement Report was approved by the Board of Education at the November 2008 Board meeting. A copy of the report, along with appendices, is available as follows:

Continuous Improvement Report
Appendix A and B
Appendix C
Appendix D through H

The Continuous Improvement Plan for June, 2008 is available by clicking here.

The Continuous Improvement Plan Update for November, 2009 is availabe here. Also, the Assessment Data Appendix is available for viewing here. These documents were shared with stakeholders at the Annual General Meeting of Electors held on Monday, November 23, 2009.

Saskatchewan Learning's Pre-K-12 Continuous Improvement Framework Guide (March 2006) indicates that:

"The Continuous Improvement Framework is designed to assist school divisions in an annual strategic planning process that identifies and aligns system priorities with appropriate strategies, operational supports and learner outcome measures. The ultimate goal of the Continuous Improvement Framework is to strengthen teaching and learning and increase opportunities for improved student learning and outcomes."

The Continous Improvement Framework is a key mechanism for the Good Spirit Board to use to "Steer the Division" in a direction aligned with the four provincial priorities and to provide direction for the schools and School Community Councils to develop aligned Learning Improvement Plans. The Continuous Improvement Plan represents the Good Spirit School Division's Strategic Plan and includes the following key targets:

Priority #1

Improved learning outcomes in reading, writing, math and science

Priority #2

Equitable opportunities for all

Priority #3

Improved transitions Pre K-12 and to post-secondary or employment

Priority #4

System wide accountability and governance
