INTERESTED IN LEARING HOW TO HELP PROTECT YOUR CHILD ON THE INTERNET?

The Langenburg Central School SCC will be hosting a presentation conducted by the Saskatchewan Internet Child Exploitation Unit on Tuesday, February 27th @ 7pm

The Saskatchewan Internet Child Exploitation (ICE) Unit which is comprised of members of the Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP) will be conducting a presentation which will involve topics concerning child exploitation over popular social media applications, internet web-sites and gaming platforms.  This topic will include statistics gathered by Exploitation Specialists, as well as the type of material and trends involved with child exploitation.

The ICE unit will show videos of scenarios which are commonly found within the communities that have investigated crimes against children.  The presentation prepares community members, parents and other community leaders the basics on how to protect your children from becoming victims of these types of offences and to provide education about how "Apps" and certain web based sites work.

The ICE unit will also show how they monitor online searches for this material and what strategies are currently being used to combat child exploitation offences.
