New Saskatchewan Student Assessment (SSA) Program
We are reaching out to share information about the Saskatchewan Student Assessment (SSA) program, a new provincial initiative designed to provide consistent, fair, and curriculum-based assessments in core subject areas.
This program is part of Saskatchewan’s 2020-2030 Provincial Education Plan and will benefit students by offering valuable insights to support their learning and future success.
The Good Spirit School Division will work closely with the Ministry of Education throughout the remainder of the 2024-25 school year to ensure a smooth implementation of the SSA program. These assessments, beginning in the 2025-26 school year, will be developed with Saskatchewan teachers and aligned with the curriculum students are already learning.
Rest assured, the SSA program is not intended to replace classroom assessments or create additional stress for students. Instead, it aims to provide meaningful data to identify strengths and areas for growth, helping teachers, families, and schools support student achievement.
We look forward to sharing more updates as the program develops. Please review the attached fact sheet for additional details, and feel free to visit saskatchewan.ca/assessment for further information.
Thank you!
