Indigenous Storytelling Month, February 26 & 27 Sessions

Check out the schedule for our last week of Indigenous Storytelling Month!

These sessions are an incredible way to learn more about Indigenous heritage and culture.

Schedule:

Wednesday, February 26, 2025 with Erroll Kinistino & Josie Linka:

  • 1:00pm-1:35pm (grades 4-5)
  • 1:40pm-2:15pm (grades 6-7)
  • 2:20pm-2:55pm (grades 7-8)

Erroll Kinistino is a Saulteaux Treaty Indian with membership on the Ochapowace First Nation near Broadview, Saskatchewan. He is a versatile artist known for his talents as an actor, musician, recording artist, storyteller, and traditional grass dancer, performing throughout Saskatchewan.

His creative journey is shared with Josie, his partner-in-crime, who is a talented vocalist, artist, writer, and videographer from White Bear First Nation.

Thursday, February 27, 2025 with Sherryl Whitehawk:

  • 1pm - all ages
    • Topic: Grandmothers

Sherryl Whitehawk has over 25 years of experience in mental health, known for her passion in facilitation and teaching. Her work spans suicide prevention, grief and loss, addictions, health empowerment, and sharing the wisdom of the "grandmother spirit."

Sherryl is also the author of the children's book "Safe Snug Moss Babies," where she emphasizes the importance of our shared responsibilities to care for our children.

Now retired, Sherryl enjoys life as a grandmother to 8 and a great-grandmother to 1. Affectionately known as "Grandmother Sherry," she continues to inspire those around her with her wisdom and warmth.

February has been an amazing month of learning from some knowledgeable individuals. We already cannot wait for next year. Thank you to all that tuned in!
